NDAA Vote Next Week: End Indefinite Detention!
We can put an end to a shocking assault on our civil liberties: Last year’s National Defense Authorization Act included language that could allow the military to detain civilian suspects INDEFINITELY without charge or trial.
This year’s NDAA could come up for a vote as soon as next week and we have a prime opportunity to reverse this travesty of justice.
Congressmen Adam Smith and Justin Amash will put forth an amendment to make it clear that the military does not have the power to arrest and indefinitely detain civilians without charging or trying them. Please urge your lawmakers to support their efforts and help us spread word far and wide.

There’s already a Change.org petition against the passing of Amendment One, which banned same-sex marriage, civil unions, and domestic partnerships in North Carolina. These things actually tend to be pretty damn effective.
Let’s see what the power of Tumblr can do! I know there’s at least a million Tumblr users who are against this sort of harmful discrimination and bigotry.

Doctor Who rant. I hate how Martha is totally fawning like a stupid school girl over the Doctor.. YES he’s very attractive, but come on, she would’ve been a much better character if she didn’t fall for him. I do think she’s a great character but she shouldn’t be all in love with the Doctor. Hi everyone sharing another email I received from Demand progress. WE as a whole need to stop this bullshit that is CISPA. We beat SOPA and PIPA so lets put CISPA back in the trash where it belongs! Spread the word guys!

But those changes don’t go far enough. We need lawmakers to support any and all amendments that would protect Internet users’ privacy AND to vote against CISPA as a whole.

Reports say that lawmakers will vote on the bill as early as Wednesday, April 25th or Thursday, April 26th. It isn’t looking very good. It is of utmost importance that you contact your local representatives to tell them that you do not agree with this bill and they shouldn’t either. Make your voice heard.
